General rules

These are the Official Rules for the TCCC TikTok Video Contest (“Contest”). The contest begins on March 1, 2022, and ends on March 15, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered, or associated with TikTok.

Eligibility

The contest is open to California Native youth, ages 13-18, located in the state of California. All entrants must have parent/guardian consent to participate. Not open to employees and immediate family members (spouse, parent, siblings, and children) of TCCC, its directors, officers, employees, or agents. Immediate family members of TCCC employees are ineligible for a prize but may post a TikTok video. 

How to Enter

To enter, the entrant must submit:

  1.  An original TikTok video link at https://etr.formstack.com/forms/tccc_tiktok_contest which promotes education on 1) the effects of vaping, 2) effects of secondhand smoke, or 3) the effects of tobacco/vaping on the environment.
  2. Application - Consent to Participate form including video release. By submitting all items, the entrant automatically confirms that he/she agrees to all official rules.

The deadline to enter is March 15, 2022 at 11:59pm PST.

Winner Determination

TCCC will select winner(s) from among all entrants who have complied with these Official Contest Rules. TCCC’s decision with respect to the selection of the potential winner(s) shall be final. Entrants need not be present to win. The potential winners will be notified by email on or about April 30, 2022. Winners or winning teams will be required to submit a W-9 in order to receive the prize. 

Prize Acceptance

All federal state and local laws and regulations apply. Prior to or at the time of delivery of the prize, the potential winner/parent or guardian must execute an Affidavit of Eligibility / Prize Acceptance Form / Release of Liability. Failure to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility / Prize Acceptance Form / Release of Liability may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner, unless prohibited by law. Failure to accept delivery of the prize will constitute forfeiture of such prize. If the potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules or if TCCC is unable to contact a selected winner within a reasonable time period following the winner’s selection, the prize will be forfeited and, at TCCC’s discretion, an alternate winner will be selected. In consideration of being awarded the prize, winner/parent or guardian hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation, or remuneration of any kind, to the use of the winner’s name, voice, picture, and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by TCCC. 

Contest Video Details
  • Entries can be submitted by an individual or team. Teams of 1-3 students. Each student must submit an application with team name and school. All individuals/team members must live in the state of California. A team’s prize must be split equally by the team members.
  • Each team member must fill out an application/video release e-signed by parent/guardian.
  • Video may be up to 15 seconds or can string up to (4) 15 second TikTok videos.
  • Video must promote education on the effects of vaping, effects of secondhand smoke, or the effects of tobacco/vaping on the environment.
  • Student(s) may use a smart phone to film the video and must be vertical format for TikTok.
  • Videos may not use copyrighted images or music.
  • Multiple video submissions are allowed but only one submission per entrant may claim and incentive or win a prize.
  • Videos must not infringe the privacy or personality rights of any person or deceased person.
  • Students must comply with the Terms of Service of TikTok, which provides that in order to access or use the services the person must be 13 years or older, cannot make available material which is defamatory to any person, obscene, offensive, pornographic, hateful, racist, discriminatory, or inflammatory: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/terms-of-service?lang=en

Indemnity

Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and holds harmless and indemnifies TCCC and TikTok, and each of their directors, officers, employees, or agents, against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising from either the entrant’s participation or the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in this Contest.
